I have a simple question: Did you know they paved over the Erie Canal? So far, this seems to be a little secret the residents of Schenectady, NY have been keeping to themselves. Well I'm here to let it out, let me tell ya. I was really thrown for a loop on a recent visit there when I realized, while looking at some old photos, that the modern-day Erie Blvd. was once the infamousErie Canal. Crushing blow. Although this shot doesn't live up to the standards of the other shots in this collection, I offer it here as a record of what once was the Erie Canal, is today Erie Blvd. and who knows what it will be tomorrow.
